then as an avid pin collector, you'll undoubtedly have those from THE OTHER COALITION of the anti-vietnam war movement. you do recall that there were two coalitions. you might also recall that both coalitions had no problems including democrat [and republican?] speakers at many conferences and rallies explicitly for the reason that their presence would ensure broadness and numbers. finally, both coalitions had differences roughly approximating the ones that exist now.

For us (O29 coalition), to take a position so that the antiwar movement can be more palatable to the Democrats, is not only pathetic, it is irresponsible and repugnant. Why would the antiwar movement concede to a time table that would result in the deaths of more Iraqi women and children as well as more US troops?
LeBlanc writes: "It is up to us to turn the growing opposition to Bush into a massive movement to set the date and bring the troops home now."
There's only one date that allows for us to bring the troops home now: NOW, not later at a date to be determined by Congress.
To concede anything less than OUT NOW, sounds like "a little bit more of this war is okay." How many more months are okay? How many more deaths tolerable? How much more fiscal havoc on our schools, elderly, veterans and poor is reasonable collateral damage?
