[O29] Keegan O'Brien's case

Keegan is an antiwar activist too. This case deserves serious
attention and Keegan deserves serious support. I was present at the
action August 13 and there was no assault and battery by Keegan. A
group of antichoice people were very aggressive physically, pushing
prochoice people out of a pen. Two items of action can be to attend
tomorrow's hearing (Thursday) and to write an email letter to Clerk
Magistrate Donna Ciampoli (see below). We all need to stand together
against attempts to silence us via misuse of the legal system.

     Hey everyone my name is Keegan O'Brien, i'm 16
and I'm a pro-choice activist. I am being called to
court on Thursday September 8 @ 10 AM to face a
possible charge of assult and battery against a member
of Operation Rescue, an extremist anti-choice group.
This complaint is based on no evidence.

On Saturday August 14 a group of about 70 pro-choice
activists organized a demonstration to defend the
Planned Parenthood in Allston from the anti-abortion
group, Operation Rescue (OR).  For the first time in
years, anti-abortionists were dircetly confronted and
prevented from harassing people entering and exiting
the clinic.

Operation Rescue left the clinic feeling defeated and
defensive.  And, now after the event, in an effort to
stop our pro-choice activism, an OR member is filing
this legal complaint against me.  This member of
OR filed a complaint to the police the day of the
event, because I was blocking her from videotaping
people going in and out of the clinic . A method these
anti-choice activists have used for years to spread
and promote the harrasment of women who chose to make
a personal choice with thier own body and life. If OR
is able to defeat me in court then they will only feel
stronger and more unopposed. If they are able to
press phoney charges against me then  nothing will
stope them from doing it again.

I did not touch this women at all, I simply held my
sign in front of the her camera and she obviously was
annoyed.  The fact that she is charging me with
assualt and battery is completely absurd.

Your support is needed in order to ensure that I do
not have to face false and phoney charges. There is
going to be a hearing before the Clerk Magistrate
Donna  M. Ciampoli to decide weather or not (baseded
on the aruguments/facts of both sides) this will go
before a judge and become offical charges against me.
Because I am on probabtion right now from an arrestt
at an anti-war rally, if this complaint were to become
a charge I could be facing a great deal of trouble.

there is any way you could make my hearing that would
be incredibly appreciated. If  you would like to write
a letter of support then adress it to the Clerk
Magistrate DONNA M. CIAMPOLI, and e-mail it to me. I
will then print it out and my lawyer will present it
