Hey,
Just thought everyone should see this. Today at 10am Bush gave a speech where he tried to reverse his slide in the polls by saying we have to take the fight to the "Islamic radicals seeking to enslave whole nations and intimidate the world." This is classic scapeogating and a total smoke-screen. He's trying to blame Arabs and Muslims for the problems that he himself is spreading throughout the world. We have to respond to this blow-for-blow when talking to people while we are out tabling and leafleting for the protest. The real problem is not mythical hordes of "Muslim extremists" ready to invade America, but rather the fact that Bush's war is creating more death, destruction, instability, insecurity, and general climates of repression, than any other force on the planet right now.

WASHINGTON - President Bush, trying to reverse a slide in public support for the war in Iraq, said Thursday that Islamic radicals are seeking to "enslave whole nations and intimidate the world," and called that a prime reason not to cut and run in Iraq. "There's always a temptation in the middle of a long struggle to seek the quiet life, to escape the duties and problems of the world and to hope the enemy grows weary of fanaticism and tired of murder," he said, seeking to address calls from anti-war activists for a U.S. troop withdrawal.
